Every herd has a few old hands on the sofa during the kick-off. They are not being negative; they have simply seen this pool before, and they remember which ones were dry by the second week. A new strategy that nobody checks against memory is a gamble dressed as courage. Ask the people who were there last time what happened, before the kick-off rather than after.
